Moyo (Kirstenbosch, Western Cape)

Picnics for one range from R140 to R235 (vegetarian and pescatarian options also available). Picnics for two range between R390 and R550. There is also a great kiddie's picnic box on offer which includes mini vital rice cakes, crunchy baby carrots with hummus dip, kids grilled BBQ chicken burger with creamy mayo and cucumber ribbons and lettuce, mini chocolate bar and fruit juice box. Orders need to be placed 5 days in advance and paid for within 72 hours of the collection date.

Tables at Nitida (Durbanville, Western Cape)

These delicious goodie boxes serve two for only R360 per box (served cold.) A kids parcel is also available for just R60 and includes a kids ham and cheese ciabatta or chicken and cheese ciabatta, seasonal fruit, fresh juice and a yummy treat. Bookings are essential and must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

Paulina's at Rickety Bridge (Franschhoek, Western Cape)

Offers gourmet and regular picnics laid out on the veranda of the restaurant. Using old wine barrels for platters, which are ideal for sharing, eating, relaxing and drinking wine overlooking a beautiful view of the vineyards and mountains. Pricing varies and there are no kiddie's baskets available. Opening times are from Monday to Sunday, 12pm - 4pm.

Zevenwacht Restaurant (Stellenbosch, Western Cape)

There a variety of picnic basket options on offer, which includes a farm house basket or farm house vegetarian basket for two for R400 per basket, a braai basket for R400, which also serves two and comes with either a garlic loaf or fresh baguette, homemade preserve, chicken thigh, boerewors, lamb chops, greek salad, potato, bacon, corn and wild rocket salad, cheese and biscuits as well as a delicious strawberry cheese cake. Also included in the braai basket is wood, firelighters and a braai grid along with the use of one of the braai areas.

There is also a kiddie's basket on offer for R60.

Cape Point Vineyards (Noordhoek, Western Cape)

For just R395 you will receive a lovely picnic basket serving two people. A vegetarian option is also available as well as a kids picnic hamper for R65. Orders must be placed at least 24 hours in advance.

The Werf Restaurant at Boschendal (Franschhoek, Western Cape)

Relax in the amazing garden area with a delicious picnic, banting and vegetarian options available too. The price for a picnic for two is R395, R210 for a basket for one and R85 for a yummy kiddies basket. Basket collection is between 12pm and 2pm. Bookings are essential.

Allee Bleue (Franschhoek, Western Cape)

Choose from a standard picnic basket or vegetarian basket for two for only R195 per adult. The kids basket is available for R95 per child under the age of 12 years. Bookings are essential.

Eight To Go - Spier Wine Farm (Stellenbosch, Western Cape)

Bookings for a mouth-watering Spier picnic is essential and must be placed in advance. Options include a vegetarian or summer picnic for just R275 per person, including wine. A kids option is on offer for R140 per child.

Country Kitchen - Mont Rochelle Hotel and Vineyard (Franschhoek, Western Cape)

These picnic baskets are made for two adults sharing, prices start from R360 per basket. The scrumptious kids mini basket is available for R110. Baskets need to be pre-booked at least 12 hours in advance.

Fyndraai - Solms Delta(Franschhoek, Western Cape)

Delectable farm picnics are available here and are freshly packed for you. A vegetarian basket and options for kids available on request. A regular basket for two costs R365 per basket while the option for one costs R225.

Viljoensdrift Winery(Robertson, Western Cape)

Offering fantastic gourmet picnic options and is also home to a lovely self-help deli. Enjoy your picnic out on the deck, on the grassy river banks or in the river boat.

Klein River Cheese Farmstead (Stanford, Western Cape)

The deli style picnic shed is filled with local produce, wine, beer and a huge array of artisanal cheese, here you can create your very own picnic basket or indulge in one already packed for R285, which serves two. A kiddies playful picnic basket is also on offer for R65 each.
