Mambo's Pub and Bistro boasts a relaxing and casual atmosphere. It is home to an English style pub as well as a quaint restaurant set in the heart of the lovely suburb of Plumstead. Recently my family and I had the pleasure of dining here one chilly Autumn evening.

On arrival we were warmly welcomed and promptly shown to our comfy seats in the restaurant area. My toddler joined us for this visit and so we missed out on enjoying the pub... it did look incredibly inviting, so we will definitely be back to check out the pub sans toddler.

Our waitress was super friendly and had our drinks to us within just a few short minutes of placing our orders. We quenched our thirst with some crisp sauvignon blanc and some good old Castle beer. My daughter squealed in delight at her delish strawberry milkshake.

For starters we opted for the platter to share, which consisted of juicy meatballs, golden chicken strips, crisp calamari, insanely good pork sausage bites and chips, served with a sweet chilli mayo. We loved this platter, the portion was perfect for sharing and the pricing was really reasonable.

For mains my little one opted for the calamari and chips - the calamari was really tender and seasoned perfectly.

We enjoyed the Beef Burger and Chicken Schnitzel. The Beef Burger was perfectly cooked, served alongside a decadent mushroom sauce and delicious chips.

The Chicken Schnitzel was a crisp golden colour, really tender and juicy. I ordered a side of salad with mine, which was wonderfully fresh and zesty. The side cheese sauce was really creamy and complimented the chicken perfectly.

Next up was the dessert, we indulged in the ice-cream with chocolate sauce as well as the Mississippi Mud Pie - we could have licked those dishes clean, the mud pie was a rich, chocolate delight!

After dessert, we opted for something to warm us up a little - we enjoyed some Don Pedro, a Cafe Latte and a really lovely Jameson Irish Coffee. The little one enjoyed a warm and creamy hot chocolate. This ended off our meals magnificently.

Overall we were very impressed with our meals and really loved the relaxed atmosphere. We felt right at home and cannot wait to visit again soon. Thank you to the team at Mambo's for a truly delicious evening.
