Restaurant description

Italian cuisine has developed over the centuries. Although the country known as Italy did not unite until the 19th century, the cuisine can claim traceable roots as far back as the 4th century BCE. Through the centuries, neighboring regions, conquerors, high-profile chefs, political upheaval and the discovery of the New World have influenced one of the premiere cuisines in the world.

La Vita strives to maintain this rich heritage in its food, using only imported Italian ingredients, giving the food an authentic and unmistakably Italian flair.

La Vita is a new addition to the Pietermaritzburg eatery scene. An exciting menu featuring traditional Italian dishes, and some interessting fusion ideas. Dishes ranging from Duck, Rabbit, Guineafowl and our ever popular fresh fish. We have an extensive Pizza, Pasta, Seafood and Meat selection.

Our wine list features over 50 wines and is extensive. We feature a variety of house wines and guarantee that there's something to suit your palate. Our staff, will assist you in pairing your favourite dish with a wine to match. Look out for our new range of Certified Organic wines that will be available soon.
