Restaurant description

Hippo Hollow Country Estate is situated outside Hazyview on the Sabi River between the Drakensberg mountains to the west and the low-lying bushveld to the east. It is the ideal destination from which to access the reserves of the Lowveld and the sights of Mpumalanga.

There is a full service restaurant and bar in a spectacular setting overlooking the Sabi River, offering country cuisine and a fine wine selection. The sight of Kingfishers and other beautiful water birds as well as hippos grazing on the lawns often enhance dinners.

Hippo hollow restaurant

Lovely setting. Excellent service. Had prawns tempura, a bit doughy. Crocodile a bit dry. Snails in blue cheese sauce very good. House wine was reasonably priced and delicious.
