Restaurant description

The River Cafe is a glorious culinary space in idyllic surroundings, reached via a forested walk, across a stone bridge and set on the banks of the Sabie River, where you can often see and hear hippos. The River Cafe is open for breakfast and light lunches from Tuesday to Sunday. We use only the finest ingredients in our menu, with vegetables from our organic nursery or from trusted suppliers.

River Cafe is a must-visit location whilst touring the Lowveld. We want Summerfields River Cafe to be a special experience, be it for a lazy weekend breakfast or light lunch. Our wines have been carefully selected, tasted, and some more... having gone with a few old faithfuls like the Rubicon, Rupert Rothschild, Haute Cabriere and L'Ormarins, to a couple of new slightly frisky recruits like the Cape Point Sauvignon Blanc and the Groote Post "Old Mans blend". For the more adventurous a Gosset Grande Reserve in true French tradition is also available. Children under the age of 12 are not allowed.
