Restaurant description

Arugula opened in March 2012 in the Welgemoed forum in Welgemoed. The warm, elegant interior with large wooden tables and a great view, ensure a comfortable environment where friends and family will feel welcome to enjoy a great meal. Our open kitchen shows off our pride and our love for food. Here you can witness the making of fresh pastas, breads and an array of fresh dishes. All while enjoying the spectacular view of the Simonsberg and surrounding mountains and a glass of South Africa's finest.

We focus on freshness of ingredients, clean simple dishes, and great South African wine. We offer a great breakfast and light lunch options like gourmet sandwiches, burgers and fresh pastas. But dinner is where we show our true colours, with great South African game dishes and pork belly that melts in your mouth.

The Chef and owner Neil Swart believes in simple dishes, that is not overcomplicated. He believes that good food doesn't need to be fancy. But it is the love that goes with simple ingredients to create good dishes. He calls it Family Fine Food.
