Restaurant description

This tropical Cuban restaurant and bar is popular with travellers, businessmen and locals alike. Grab a spot by the window, sip on a rum-soaked Mojito, order a traditional Cuban sandwich and while away the day watching the colourful chaos that is Cape Town?s famous Long Street.

Established in 2003, Caf� Mojito is a friendly, reliable spot that serves up some of the tastiest burgers in the city. Their homemade beef burgers are made fresh on the premises daily and are seasoned with their special blend of island spices and herbs. Customer favourites include the Camembert, Rocket and Sweet Chilli burger and the Jamaican Rodeo Burger- beef patty topped with melted cheese, bacon and crispy jalape�os. Wash it down with one of their delicious coconut milkshakes or tropical batidos (Cuban fruit shakes).

Caf� Mojito is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Cuban-Caribbean menu offers burgers, nachos, salads and a great snack selection for the not-so-hungry such as sticky ribs, empanadas, buffalo wings, angry prawns and the addictive Coco Loco Hoppin? Jons (jalape�o chillies stuffed with feta).

Other dishes include Chicken and Chorizo Jambalaya and Jamaican Jerk Chicken. Vegetarians will find that they are well catered for. Try Bob?s Blue cheese burger (vegetarian burger topped with avocado and blue cheese sauce), Stuffed Cuban flatbread, Roast Vegetable Pasta Salad and Curried Trinidad Roti.

Their legendary Cocktail Happy Hour runs from 5pm -6pm Monday to Sunday. Selected cocktails are R16.50 and Mojitos R21. The well stocked bar offers a wide selection of imported Caribbean rums, draught beer and a range of refreshing cocktails. Try the Strawberry Daiquiri, Dark and Stormy or Rum Runner. Caf� Mojito also offers over 10 different variations of the Cuban Mojito, from spicy mango, vanilla, chilli and ginger to refreshing litchi.

Smiling, attentive staff, vibrant tasty dishes, world class coffee, Cuban beats and a relaxed easy-going atmosphere makes this venue one not to be missed.
