Restaurant description

The Restaurant & Bar is a postmodern tribute to the 1920?s, especially relating to the grand age of mailship travel to the outlying port cities of the southern hemisphere.

It is a representation of the Nobel prize-winning poet Pablo Neruda, who, as a young man, served his native Chile in various eastern port cities as a consular official. Starting off in Rangoon, he progressed through India, Singapore, Java and Ceylon before his recall to Santiago. Much of his early work was influenced by this experience, including the seminal ?Residence on Earth?.
