Walking into Rick's Cafe has the same feeling as walking into a friend's home for dinner. The ambiance is comfortable to say the least, with decor reminiscent of the movie classic"Casablanca" with its stylish colonial Moroccan tones accompanied by lounge music filtering through the 100 year old Victorian building, located in the 'trendy' Park Road, Gardens area of Cape Town.

Immerse yourself in warm ambiance and eclectic decor in our 120 seater restaurant with its 3 fireplaces and bar, or enjoy the relaxed, vibey loft lounge and cocktail bar spilling out onto a roof deck with breathtaking views of the mountains.

Our award winning selection of wines (Diners Club Platinum Award) is sure to suit all tastes and features a wide selection by the carafe, we also offer a wide variety of Mexican and local Tequilas, Vodkas, Single Malts, Bourbons, liquors and have over 40 local and imported beers in stock.

The menu presents a seasonal selection of Global tapas and a wide variety of dishes ranging from mouth watering salads, Gourmet burgers, fresh seafood, matures Steaks and Moroccan and Mediterranean specialties - "we serve Comfort food"

We were welcomed by a smiling Hostess on arrival who suggested we have a Cocktail at the Roof terrace Bar, We both thought this was a lovely touch. Being a Monday night we both thought the restaurant wouldn?t be as busy but to our surprise it was almost full. After spending on what seemed hours on choosing our dishes, may I add JP (from Zimbabwe?) was god send with helping us decide! We relaxed enjoyed our wine, a Hartenberg Pinotage which was excellent!
For main my husband had the venison special, skewers of Ostrich, Springbok and warthog filets, which was cooked to perfect, melt in the mouth and I had the Seafood Tajine, again cooked perfectly. We finished off a great evening with chocolate samoosas, which is one of the best desserts I have ever had. Once you break the crust, chocolate trickles out. Served with white chocolate ice cream, it was just delightful. Highly Recommended!"
