Located in Tamboerskloof, minutes from Table Mountain, this is a beautiful restaurant with an enchanting waterfall, zen inspired d?cor and tranquil ambience. Kyoto prides itself on creating a unique cuisine which includes sea urchin, farmed abalone, conch from Mozambique, giant Alaskan king crab, tender sweet squid, and fresh wasabi root, flown in from the far off mountains of Japan, which is freshly grated at your table. Enjoy the Japanese-style oysters from the cold Atlantic coast or the lightest sensual tempura of scallops, vegetables and prawns, and if requested fresh oysters tempura.

The kitchen explores innovative combinations that are not over-worked nor over-designed. Seaweed, fresh and moist, makes up a salad of shitake mushrooms, with a choice of wild red salmon from Alaska or Norwegian fjord salmon. Try the fresh crayfish miso soup, or the sea soup with its ?jewels? of the sea. There are various dishes for vegetarians too. Steamed fish in a bamboo pot and the seared tuna are delicious specialities, and line fish, blue fin and big eye tuna are standard on the menu when making your choice of sashimi and California rolls. Different varieties of sushi include scallop, octopus, eel, caviar and oyster, so be adventurous and include these on your plate!

A carefully selected wine list showcases wines from premier local estates (plus a couple of imported wines too. The Japanese inspired cocktail menu includes many unique combinations such as ?Green Tea Destiny? with aromatic Japanese green tea, a squeeze of fresh lime, Sake, London dry gin and lemonade, or the ?Ginger Misawari? with an infusion of root ginger, fresh lime and smooth whiskey, stirred slowly to allow the natural flavours to develop. At the very attractive bar various Sakes, Japanese beers and whiskeys await you, along with desserts which include green tea crepes, ginger ice cream and a midori green melon yello with green tea ice cream.

A stunning private dining room is available for weddings, birthdays or just a intimate evening of fun and food. Kyoto Garden Sushi also have an excellent Take Away menu for fine dining at home!
