Signal Restaurant offers creative Cape cuisine that's fresh and inventive. Led by Executive Chef, Malika van Reenen, Signal Restaurant draws on influences from the many nationalities and customs that have shaped this region since being settled in 1652; namely Dutch and British settlers, French Huguenots, Asian traders and African cultures.

Signal's menu connects this colourful past with the present through innovative combinations and flavours that hail from Cape Town's heritage. Local farms and the surrounding oceans are the best sources of ingredients for our V&A Waterfront restaurant and this fresh produce is created into dishes that speak volumes about the variety and quality of South African cuisine.

THE LIBRARY serves Afternoon Tea daily from 12h00 to 18h00 in the stylishly comfortable Library, the choice of several varieties of loose-leaf tea combined with a mouthwatering menu make for an unforgettable afternoon. First on offer is a Cream Tea consisting of home-made scones, strawberry jam and cream served with either loose-leaf tea or coffee for R75 per person.

Next on offer and presented in gorgeous tiers is the Afternoon Tea - a time-honoured tea for one! This includes freshly baked traditional and savoury scones, a selection of beautifully cut finger sandwiches and irresistible sweet treats served with either loose-leaf tea or coffee for R185 per person. And for those in the mood for celebrating, Afternoon Tea is available with the added luxury of a glass of sparkling wine - Deluxe Afternoon Tea is served at R255 per person.

Lastly, for the not-so-hungry... a slice of delectable, home-made cake is available for R50 per slice.

With a choice of Black, White, Green and Herbal teas, there is something for every palate. And of course pure Highland Rooibos, grown wild on the high altitude Cedarberg Mountains - also known as the Red Gold of South Africa, is available as one of the healthy caffeine-free herbal options.

Served in an unrivalled setting overlooking the cosmopolitan yacht marina by staff trained to brew the perfect infusion of loose-leaf tea in dainty glass teapots, this is by no means an ordinary afternoon tea!
