The well known Paternoster Hotel is situated on the West Coast of South Africa in the fishing village of Paternoster, 145km from north of Cape Town. The original building was built in 1863 by the community with limestone from the area. In those days it served as a ?mall? with a clothing store, jail/holding cell, and entertainment area with snooker tables. The present dining room was used for dances and church services and the function hall was an open area used by the local farmers to store their corn.

The restaurant is open to Hotel and day visitors 7 days a week. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the dining room or outside on the veranda. The restaurant prides itself on its delicious seafood dishes, especially its crayfish. The restaurant stocks a selection of local wines from the region. Braai facilities and traditional seafood braais are available on request and need to be booked in advance.
