Restaurant description

"The grand old lady finally has her new address" Its what the locals said when The Royal was refurbished and upgraded to the highest standards in 2005/2006. After serving more than seven generations, the oldest hotel of the Western Cape occupies a very special place in the hearts of both local and international visitors.

This heritage building now looks more glorious than ever before and is one of the most colonial buildings and a true landmark of South Africa's history. Old world luxury is what one can experience in this hotspot for photographers and painters. This, plus its unique setting, makes our hotel also a very popular wedding venue. From 7am till late our kitchen is operational. One can order breakfast, lunch, High Tea, snacks, platters and dinner. With 7 designated areas one can choose from, depending on the mood. Our 150-year-old colonial pub with adjacent smoking restaurant, our non-smoking restaurant, our lounge for High Teas and (weather permitting) our stoep, two outside terraces, our outside bar with terrace and our outside lounge.
