Pane E Vino combines the essence of an Italian 'vineria' where you can enjoy the Dalla Cia family wines and grappas, and that of a 'bar tavola calda' where you can have a lovely light meal, or a sandwich made with home-baked focaccia bread, or just an Italian good espresso or cappuccino.

The recipes are authentic Italian, the style home-cooking, and while many of the dishes are slow-cooked, they are ready to be consumed in a short lunch break. Salads are made to order. A black board at the Deli counter will display the specials of the day, normally a pasta and a main.

Dalla Cia wine is available by the taster, by the glass or by the bottle. A selection of Italian wines available for purchase from the store, can be also consumed at the table with a small corkage fee.

Beside the wines, the well known Dalla Cia Grappa is served as a digestive, as a caffe corretto, as ice cream, or even as a Grappa tasting dessert menu.

The meaning of the name PANE E VINO (headed by Elena Dalla Cia) is 'bread and wine' and embodies its ethos: simple, basic, and traditional; the perfect place where the Dalla Cia's can merge their love of food and wine. The warmth and enthusiasm of the family, from patriarch Giorgio Dalla Cia renowned for being cellar master at Meerlust for 25 years, to George the 3rd generation grappa distiller in the family, is very much part of this philosophy - arrive as guests and leave feeling part of the clan.
