The Jackal and Hide welcomes you to drink, dine and socialise in a stylish environment with a relaxed atmosphere. We make it our mission to exceed local culinary and service standards, while providing our clientele with a eurochic atmosphere and environment in which to socialise. Situated on the popular Kloof Street with Table Mountain as its backdrop, the menu at Jackal and Hide was originally designed by Octavio G. Gamo and it includes South African favourites with a twist. The dining space is Victorian with a contemporary touch, designed by Gavin Cohen. Owners, Gavin and Federico Scarpecci, are passionate foodies and have created a good selection of starters, salads, mains and desserts, which are updated regularly

* We also have a Monday Night Delight Special: R140 for 2 of our main meals
* A cocktail happy hour 2 for 1 between 4pm and 7pm
* Live music every Thursday night!

I went there one night to meet a friend who didn't show and was taken care of my the staff in a way that was truly memorable. My waitress, whose name began with a T (sorry I cannot remember!), recommended a delicious entree and made me feel well looked after. Between her attentiveness, the food quality, and the very reasonable prices, I would make this my regular establishment if I lived in Cape Town. There are other more posh places, but those feel far less hospitable. "

Great food, friendly service

Despite the somewhat chaotic group, the waitresses were completely accommodating and disarmingly friendly without being obsequious. The food was outstanding - interesting dishes and ingredients, beautifully prepared and presented, and decent helpings. Jackal and Hide is a real find."
