Seating up to 170 guests, maze at One&Only Cape Town is modelled on its British namesake, yet the small plates here evoke the bountiful flavours of authentic South African recipes.

Three Michelin-starred chef, Gordon Ramsay and his protégé, Michelin-starred chef, Jason Atherton of maze London are firm believers in using local ingredients and maze at One&Only Cape Town is no different. Both chefs explored the region to discover the best organic farms, fish markets and olive groves where they were particularly impressed by the quality of the olive oil. For the first time, maze?s menu will feature, Karan Steak, Cape Rock lobster, Kudu fillet and Karoo lamb.

Diners are invited to a visual feast in the restaurant?s open kitchen, which is ideal for show grilling and roasting. The kitchen also features an ?American? imported broiler, heating steaks to a fiery temperature of 650ºC to enhance their flavour - a signature trait of the maze-style cuisine.

Open throughout the whole day, maze offers breakfast, afternoon and evening meals, as well as a special children?s menu. Those wishing to dine in the comfort of their own room can order maze room service, which features a range of starters and salads, soups, sandwiches, pizzas and specials from the restaurant menu.

Read more "We went to Maze with the idea of finding faults and having been so disappointed by South African dining experiences in the past we believed that we would be disappointed (yes I know it?s a very negative way to approach this, but read on).

For the first time I could understand why people would go to a restaurant to have an experience! Maze had the best staff, the most delicious flavourful food (even the salad was exploding in my mouth), great wine and great ambiance.

I had the South African seared steak as a starter and it was the meatiest beefiest flavour I ever tasted! - Please have this.
Maze being a little more expensive than most restaurants one would think that it is money not well spent, but I can assure you I will go back and spend that money any day!

Do yourself a favour and go! You will not be disappointed.

PS. They really keep on feeding you even when you are at home (they give you a little surprise to take home)."
